About this business
Shoreline Sightseeing, established in 1939, began with one vessel offering Lake Michigan Boat Tours showcasing Chicago's fabulous skyline. Now in our third generation of family ownership and operation and in our 77th season. Shoreline Sightseeing has a fleet of ten touring vessels and nine water taxis. In 1996, we brought the first water taxis to Chicago. All our touring vessels have been custom built or custom modified to offer our passengers the highest standards of comfort and safety.

The staff was friendly and courteous. The tour of Chicago’s skyline was breathtaking. It made me see the beauty of my home town. I highly recommend this tour, especially with the fireworks and it was quite inexpensive. Worth it!!

I loved the architecture river boat tour! I learned so much. I took my two teen age daughters and thought they wouldn't really be paying attention to the history. However, to my supprise, they we're fully engaged in what was said and when we came home they told me about all the cool things that they learned. I highly recommend Shoreline sightseeing to anybody at any age. I completely enjoyed my tour and I'm more than happy to say that my teenage daughters did as well. What a GREAT tour! Enjoyed the 70+ minute, highly informative and interesting tour on July 28th at 1pm. Jim, our emcee was extremely knowledgeable, and his well paced delivery of descriptions, facts, and interesting side-stories made this the BEST guided tour I have taken in the last 10 years!!
The architecture tour yesterday with Jim was great. From beginning to end, we got to learn about Chicago’s buildings and history. I enjoyed it and recommend this tour to others. Ask to tour with Jim!
