I was informed that they would remove my solar panels and put them back on for free when I got ready to replace my roof if I could get it done in the first five years. My solar was complete in April of this year, yes last month. I asked them if they could remove the panels to put a metal roof on my house and they are now going to charge me for the removal and install. We are more than willing to honor the free removal and reinstallation of the panels, although this does not cover adding additional materials. If you were simply replacing the roof, shingle to shingle, everything is happily covered under that guarantee. Since the change is shingle to metal, the racking and railing used is completely different, which would be why there is additional costs associated for the service. From the first phone call, everything was a breeze. They handled everything. From getting city permits to notifying our electricity provider. It all happened quickly too. My brother is an engineer that worked on some government solar projects; I ran everything by him before I agreed to anything. He approved.
