RecommendedLove Shelter From the Storm! We got a bonded pair of Pekes from there. It was meant to be and we are thankful that they do such a great job loving, training and keeping these dogs safe until they find their forever homes. Our two are now therapy dogs for the Children's Hospital.
As I entered the urine soaked air my eyes started to water. How could a shelter smell this bad? I met my dog. She is wonderful. I notice she is extremely dirty. I notice the night we get her home that she snorts a bit. When I look at her records I also noticed she had only been vaccinated for rabies, not kennel cough or distemper, which is unusual for a shelter. Two days later she starts coughing. Do a better investigation of applicants before denying them.
I just adopted a dog from them; they were upfront with all the questions I had. The volunteers were forthcoming with their opinions and wanted to be sure she was a good fit. I came to see her more than once and brought my kids to meet her also. She has been great. I talked quite a bit with the adoption coordinator and she was very helpful also. I would recommend them to anyone.
I recently adopted my sweet bully Rhiannon from Shelter From the Storm and it was an awesome experience! They had all proper testing, micro chipping and surgery before she came to us!!! Great shelter to adopt from!!!
Why would you put a dog back up for adoption after someone was bit and needed stitches. We were told foster mom would adopt. Dog should not be around children period. No mention of this except dog is shy. Shame on you
I had my puppy neutered there and my two kittens spayed there and they are wonderful and friendly and care very much about your pet's well-being! Very professional as well.
