About this business
The Shellback Tavern came to life as The Knothole and then The Surf after World War II. Famous for their pizza and reasonably priced drinks, the location became an instant hit on the beach bar scene. The original owners were Don Hartsong and Ed Jamison. In 1973 local bartender Richard Swartz and his partner Jim Korshall purchased the bar and renamed it the Shellback Tavern. Its the best bar in mahattan. Good food, good service and a jukebox. Friendly people.
Kari and I had the best steak dinner last night A tender juicy steak with baked potato veggie and salad it was delicious I would definitely do it again Thanks again to Jennifer and Bob Beverly for such a great time

The best bar in South Bay! I've been to this bar for years and I always have a great time there. Staff is great and people are very friendly.
