The Shellback Tavern came to life as The Knothole and then The Surf after World War II. Famous for their pizza and reasonably priced drinks, the location became an instant hit on the beach bar scene. The original owners were Don Hartsong and Ed Jamison. In 1973 local bartender Richard Swartz and his partner Jim Korshall purchased the bar and renamed it the Shellback Tavern. Come for the tacos, stay for the atmosphere. Definitely a place to stop by for some fun.
Best bar in the area, best barmen Beer isn't bad either.
