I had a wonderful experience at Shampoo Avenue B! I wanted a new cut and highlights and my stylist had wonderful suggestions for me on both fronts. She even put my color combo into their database so that if I come back and want the same job they will know what to mix. I am so excited that they are moving (just a few blocks down Avenue B)-- now they are right across the street from me! Can't wait to go back.
This place is great! Staff are fantastic, stylists are talented. I've been going here for almost 2 years, and as long as I stay in NYC, that won't change. This place gets my official stamp of approval!
It's so hard to find a stylist that knows how to cut short hair. It takes a lot of precision, time, & creativity. Jessica A. At Shampoo is one of the best! I've lived in many cities and no one cuts my hair better than Jessica. The salon is spunky & great. All the staff is so friendly and the assistants give the best head massages while shampooing your hair. I swear they have to wake me up everytime. The prices are typical for NYC and a great value for the services provided.
Shampoo Avenue B is without a doubt the best salon I've ever been to! I moved here two years ago and luckily was referred to the salon by a friend. I haven't gone anywhere else since!! WARNING!!!! Don't be scammed by this place!!!!! I went there today for the first time and I was so excited because of all the great reviews. I wanted to get a cut and highlights but the girl said they had given me a 3 hour slot and because I was an hr late because I got lost getting there, she can only do my cut I said fine and I felt bad and I said I'll reschedule to go back since this was my fault. Worst salon experience of my life. It would be bad enough if they only ruined my hair, but they were rude and condescending in the process. Generally, nasty and unhelpful. Seemed to be content to take my money with no concern for how my hair actually came out. Terrible experience, will never go back. Potential clients BEWARE! Save your money.
I bought a lifebooker voucher for 2 haircut and blowdries for like $59 and 20% discount yesterday with 10 days possible refund. Moved to new york a while ago, and was looking for a new salon. Got a couple of lifebooker ads and really wanted to try Shampoo Avenue B. I called to find out if they have any appointments prior to purchasing the deal... I talked to "Steve" on a Friday who told me that I cannot book an appointment until Monday, AFTER I buy the lifebooker deal and AFTER the sale is over.
