This is one of the very few boutique hotels that cater to both leisure and business clients. After a long day of sight-seeing, or a busy meeting, what better way to relax than to visit a spa? Trilogy, Shade's spa partner, provides guests with every treatment imaginable. The in-house bar, Zinc, is ideal for a cool drink and some tapas. The hotel also has adequate business facilities, and private events can be organized here too. Now isn't that a shade better than the rest?

Sound engineer and staff was great to work with. But I can not recommend this place if you're a DJ playing Hip-Hop / R&B for weddings and receptions. Great place for Acoustic and light Jazz with NO bass and extremely low volume. Shade Hotel have a sound ordinance machine and I was told by one of the wedding planner, music was to loud. I explained the Bride and Groom could not feel or hear the music and needed volume. I continued to tell the planner to please explain the loudness with the Bride. What a Great Time I had this weekend at Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach! My room was Luxury and so was my treatment by the staff... The Manager on Duty, Chelsey, made sure my late check-in went smoothly and that I was informed about Shade... The food and hotel culture made my stay a delight. It is obvious that Jeff Modaff, the general manager, runs a tight ship and does it in a polite and personable way. For an intimate Luxury Experience, this is an easy Five Star choice!
