We recently had a problem with the hose to our icemaker cracking and every time you pressed for water it would send water streaming out from the crack. This was the 2nd time in a yr it happened. The first time the hose was spliced and lasted for a few months. This time a serviceman came and replaced the entire hose and everything should be fine. He was very professional.
We recently had a door gasket replaced on our fridge. The technician that replaced it and declared the the additional gasket need not be installed because the gasket was not damaged. All this is on warranty. He said he would return the unused gasket "to someone" to save money for sears. I got the funny feeling that the gasket will never be returned to Sears and it will most likely end up on some other refrigerator and will be sold for the $84 it cost. Too bad Sears.
Ice maker went out so had Sears Home Repair come in to give me an estimate. The guy took one look and said it would cost $400 to replace my ice maker and he had a "refurbished" ice maker in his truck. I told him I'm not paying $400 for a refurbished ice maker (you can get them new on line for $69). So he gave me a bill for $95 for the estimate. A big rip off!
