Great haircut! – I've been in ny for three years and i've tried every kind of salon, high end, low end, in queens, uptown, midtown, downtown....and i couldn't find one stylist that understood what i wanted for my long hair. I ended up going to Shaun today for a hair cut and he gave me one of the best hair cuts ever! I highly recommend Seagull, friendly, down to earth with lovely hair cuts :)
best salon I've been to – Had not been to a hairdresser for a year, and my thinning middle-aged hair was long and graying and out of control (was always wearing it up in a bun). Kate was great; did not make me feel middle-aged, and gave me a transforming cut and color. It's so easy; I can just wash it and run (haven't had a bun since). I don't like uptown glitzy snooty salons, and this couldn't be more different -- friendly, funky, and with great work. I will definitely be going back.
best. cut. ever. – kate is phenomenal - listens to what you say, fast, relaxed, and improvisational in the best possible way. she is truly collaborative and really trustworthy. if i go in with an idea, she is quick to either agree, disagree, or offer modifications... in any case she is always right. even when she is supposedly done, she is always willing to tweak things if you aren't thrilled with the end result. the entire staff is funny and quick and "gets it", so to speak. they are totally hip without being pretentious. e... read more
my hair savior – Have tried a few places around the neighborhood - have paid from 200+ trying to find a new stylist. Now my hair grows back Incredibly slow ? have been growing it out from a bob back in 05 and is just past my shoulders ; so when it comes to doing anything with my hair, I can?t have it messed up because it will take forever to correct itself ? literally. Fabulous Hair Colorist!!! – I have lived in this city for 10 years and it is so hard to find someone you trust to do your hair. I am so thrilled i wish i could post a photo. If you need your hair colored go to KEVIN!! he is a genius i went from mousey brown to black and pink....everyone was soo nice, i didn't feel rushed, just totally pampered. amazing colourist – It was my first time at Seagull and they left a great impression on me, besides the really cool music (i think someone working there is also a DJ) the general atmosphere was really relaxed and welcoming. This isn't some huge pretentious salon, its intimate and personable. Awesome cut and color ! – I had a great experience at Seagull. I went to Kate and she is really cool and down to earth. Gave me a really hot haircut and amazing lowlights/color. Its great, cozy atmosphere there in the West Village.. Definitely worth going !
Really the best – I just returned from my second visit to Seagull and will never go anywhere else. First of all, everyone is so unbelievably friendly and they make you feel as if you've been invited into their living room. The atmosphere is totally relaxed and unpretentious.
