Great doctors, but the visitation policy is intentionally designed to actively discourage caregivers from participating in patient care, not to prevent the spread of COVID. By restricting caregivers from the ER, the nurses failed to get a full patient history, and thusly failed to pass needed information to the Provider. Larger hospitals like BUMC have more up-to-date COVID precautions and a visitor policy that lowers the infection risk while allowing some visitation. First visit - totally recommend. Second visit- no way. 3 north needs to learn how to treat elderly patients and their families during Covid. To allow a patient who is helpless to fend themselves and then fall and never inform the family is a travesty. Could not get information on condition. No one called me back. A patient who cannot speak and report should never be left without advocacy - Covid or not - this should be illegal.
