Renting with Scio has been the worst experience I have ever had. I subleased an apartment for 5 months and moved out at the end of July. I was the only person living in the unit (no pets) and I kept the apartment in better condition than it was presented to me in. I cleaned it thoroughly upon move out. A month after move out, Scio chooses to send me a bill for move out “damages.” $520 for the replacement of an entire bedroom of carpet and $275 for the replacement of 4 entire window treatments. They provide me with a picture ... read more

Lived here for a full year. Can easily say is was one of the best living experiences I've had. Worked in the medical district so the location was super convenient - walked to work every morning. And so close to west loop (often walked there for drinks / dinner), and a block away from a train line that takes you straight to the west loop and into the loop in 10 mins. The building itself was really nice. Its an older building structure but the renovations are really tasteful, with great amenities. We had a unit with giant wind... read more

Good environment, quite nice location for me and the staff is very helpful, especially the reception and mechanical people. They have great patience.

Amenities are nice but for the price of rent, it should be. Maintenance people fix issues fast, the buildings core is very old so there are problems. My main issue with the building is the uncomfortable warm weather temperature in the apartment, it is 85 degrees outside and the building refuses to turn on apartment AC. For a $1,700 studio, I should have AC when I want (80 degrees inside the apartment).

Hey SCIO management - how about cleaning up your sidewalk and parkway on Ashland?? Sweep the winter debris away. Just because it's not directly in front of your entrance, potential renters still see the mess and you're not being a good neighbor to our area. Also, how about repairing the Polk sidewalk adjacent to your property. Again, your responsibility and again, everyone sees it and has difficulty walking past the huge holes.
