Our second location, conveniently located just north of Crabtree mall in the Pleasant Valley Promenade shopping center, is now open for lunch and dinner everyday. Our second restaurant is much bigger, featuring private party rooms and full bar; however our mission remains the same - that is to make your every visit to our restaurant a satisfying experience. Despite the huge footage of over 7,000 sq ft, our 2nd location is still as cozy as Sawasdee has always been known for, and better yet, we have something for everyone at t... read more

Definitely Recommended – This place is great. Don't let the fact that it is tucked back in a strip mall deter you. My husband and I moved here from Seattle where Thai food is GREAT. We have high standards for Thai dishes and had been disappointed in the prices and quality of some of the other Thai restaurants in the area. The place is small-only about 10 tables, therefore you might have to wait. But it is worth it! If you like Tofu-definitley try the one of the vegatarian tofu dishes. YUM. Great sauce! Enjoy your experience.
Best Thai in the Triangle – By far the best thai food in the triangle, Sewasdee's tiny but fun space enhances the food experience with walls and tables as deliciously bright and spicy as the food. The portions are large; food is always served with high quality, fragrant jasmine rice (compared to other thai restaurants in the area). From the drunken noodles, to the weekly highlighted curry and main dishes, to the spring rolls and papaya salad appetizers--I have never had a bad dish in all 4 years I've been going. Rounding mea... read more
No longer a secret – Slowly Sawasdee is being discovered. This leads to long waits sometimes but it's always worth it. The menu is small, but they do everything well and offer chefs specials and seasonal dishes that are always tasty. They have Pad Thai for the newbie, and more interesting dishes for the experienced. They only have a few tables so arrive early or be prepared to wait.
Great all around – One of few best Thai restaurants I've tried, and I've tried many in both Raleigh, Durham and Cary. Waitress were very nice and good service all around. They ran out of a dish, so I can't wait to go back again to try it. Food is decently priced and exceptionally authentic. The soups and appetizers were particulary good, as well as the fish dishes. You would have never guessed the quality of the food and unique ambience from looking at the outside of the store....don't judge the book by its cover, this place... read more
Wow! – Everytime I go I swear their food gets better! Flavorful dishes with a perfect balance of flavor and spice are always served quickly and with a smile. The colorful decor and comfortable seating make visting this restaurant a no-brainer. Go! After trying them all, I can honestly say this is the best Thai in the area.
Getting better again! – This was my favorite Thai restaurant in 2001-2002, butthen the quality of ingredients started slipping a bit. On recent visits in fall of 2003 and winter 2004, the food has improved back to it's original dramatic & bold taste. Excellent fresh shrimp spring rolls, Tom Kai soup, fat noodles & chicken, Pad Thai, and a very rich & creamy panang chicken. They have become very good at adjusting the food to your desires.
nice atmosphere – The place has a nice decor, though limited seating. The food is flavorful, but many items are cooked with too much oil.
Great Panang Beef – The atmosphere here is very cute - small place but decorated in a trendy way. We have been searching for a panang beef comparble to a dish we got in NYC - this is it!
Best Yes !! !! – Yes Sawasdee stands alone when it comes to Thai food. That's all they cook and they do the best by far. The remark about McDonalds is funny the only thing in common is popularity, I hope less people go to Sawasdee so I can get a table right away. O by the way what does dog food taste like. I pitty the rstwnr who had to make up those lower ratings.
Sawasdee Thai Restaurant has a 4.3 star rating with 305 reviews.
