Our second location, conveniently located just north of Crabtree mall in the Pleasant Valley Promenade shopping center, is now open for lunch and dinner everyday. Our second restaurant is much bigger, featuring private party rooms and full bar; however our mission remains the same - that is to make your every visit to our restaurant a satisfying experience. Despite the huge footage of over 7,000 sq ft, our 2nd location is still as cozy as Sawasdee has always been known for, and better yet, we have something for everyone at t... read more

Very disappointing – After much anticipation - yuck. The hot appetizers were cold. This should have been a sign of things to come since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Will definately not recommend nor go back nor visit the new location. There are way to many really good Thai restaurants to waste time with this one.
Best place I've tried in the Triangle – I grew up eating authentic Thai food, as we have a family friend from Thailand. So needless to say, I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to Thai food. Sawasdee is the best place in the Triangle for Thai (that I've tried). I'd surprisingly never had Drunken Noodles before, but I can tell you when I get them at other places, they definitely don't compare. I don't find the price for Thai to be expensive here, in fact its one of the cheapest Thai restaurants I've been to in Raleigh. The... read more
Savory and delicious! – The food is rich in flavor, and they aren't kidding with the make you cry spice level. The spot is cozy and relaxed, and the staff is very friendly. You get a lot of food and flavor for little cost. Once you eat here you'll look no further for great thai.
Yummy – I love this place! Not all the food is excellent, but most everything we have had is. My husband loves the Drunken Noodles. I'm partial to their spring rolls and the catfish is divine! Some things we have tried are just so-so, but mostly everything has been delicious and nothing has been bad. The decor is kinda weird, but less offensive than most strip mall places. Look for the saign that says "Thai Restaurant" not "Sawasdee" or you will never find it.
Always great! – We love this place for Thai and eat here quite a bit. Last week we brought our dinner club here and everyone loved it. The food was delicious!! The wait staff is friendly and efficient. And the Tom Kha soup is out of this world. Thanks for accommodating such a large group (12).
Sawasdee fumbles the ball! – We have always liked this place, but our last visit was disappointing. Colorfully decorated and clean, the wait staff is always smiling and efficient. Fast, too--- our dishes were out of the kitchen in the blink of an eye. Which made my son wonder aloud if they had been pre-prepared. Although we all ordered different entrees, all three looked identical. All were covered in a dark brown, syrupy, sweet sauce. My wife is convinced they have a new chef. We will give them another chance as our previou... read more
Fully customizable to fit your picky friends' style – I love Thai food at Sawasdee and never get anything bad. The food is excellent and my friend can customize the taste like spicy, extra spicy, and less sweet as well as less salty. I know he is picky but the restaurant can do it for him. Just ask the servers. They are so attentive. Anyway, My favorite dish is Drunken Noodle Chicken.
Definently NOT the best Thai in the Triangle – First of all, I love Thai food and eat it very often, so as an avid eater of the Thai cuisine I came to Sawasdee with high expectations since I read it was "number 1" in the area. I ordered a spicy tofu with vegetables and my boyfriend ordered the drunken noodles. Our food literally come out in about 3 minutes, meaning it must have been prepared prior to our arrival, and yes it tasted like leftovers. Our food was extremely oversweetened, not very spicy, and all of the vegetables... read more
My fav Thai restaurant in the triangle – I love all the dishes I have tried so far. Service is good however ambiance is not all that great. The only drawback is that this place is very far if you do not live in Raleigh. I hope they open new branches around the triangle
