Following their American dream, Sicilians Teresa and Michael Petrantoni immigrated to New York in the late 1920s and established Savoia Pastry Shoppe, smack in the heart of Rochester's Italian neighborhood. Over the years this pastry heaven has evolved from serving traditional Italian goodies like cannolis and cookies to offering French bread, cheesecake, pies and pizzas. Its delicious pastries make it a favorite of both locals and tourists.

I bought an 8” chocolate layer cake for my sisters 60th birthday last week. First, you couldn’t even tell it was chocolate frosting, very little flavor and what we did taste, was not chocolate. The filling was suppose to be a peanut butter mousse. It was awful, it had a horrible flavor and it definitely was not peanut butter. The only good thing about this cake was that it was pretty. Such a disappointment!
Their cuccidati is almost exactly like my Mom's and Grandmother's!
