One of the most important venues in DC for truth sharing. Has fine food and beverage service also.
I thoroughly enjoyed my brief visit to the cafe and book store, the environment was inviting and serene. Although my travel was 10 hours I had an itinerary that only included attending the million man march commemorative events and visiting the Sankofa store. We enjoyed a few items from the cafe and smoothies were delicious! ! Love the food, community, books. I had a salad that was out of this world I freshness.
Very supportive staff! Quaint setting. Great atmosphere. Vast selection of Black books for readers of all ages! Oh and I can not leave Sankofa without getting a smoothie!
