Sandy and Laura Sanborn founded Big Spring Ranch for Boys in the central Colorado Rockies in 1948. In 1962, they built High Trails Ranch for Girls a mile from the Big Spring site. The Sanborn Junior program for children 7-10 started in 1989. Tens of thousands of young people have participated in our Colorado summer camp for girls, boys, and teens over the last 60 years. We're just starting our third generation attending camp. 7 of us have attended so far across more than 50 years, with many attending for several years in a row and staying on as JCs or counselors.

My brother, sister and I went to Sanborn in the 1980s. I was there for five-week sessions in 1984 and 1988. The first time I went, my brother was there during the same session, but we were in different age groups and each pursued our own activities. It was a great adventure and learning experience!
