Sandy and Laura Sanborn founded Big Spring Ranch for Boys in the central Colorado Rockies in 1948. In 1962, they built High Trails Ranch for Girls a mile from the Big Spring site. The Sanborn Junior program for children 7-10 started in 1989. Tens of thousands of young people have participated in our Colorado summer camp for girls, boys, and teens over the last 60 years. My brother & I were campers there. Now my granddaughter is excited for her 4th summer to begin. She would stay all summer long if she could & hopes to be a counselor there one day.
Went 3 years ina row. Best memories from my childhood.
Some of the greatest moments of my young life were as a camper back in Prehistoric time.
What a nurturing *and* exciting environment. The program's strong and time-tested without being stuck in a "the way we've always done it" mindset. Kids come home changed. In a great way!
I attended camp in the 80’s and my daughter went too. We both hiked Pikes Peak at the age of 13. We love Sanborn.
This is the place my daughter dreams of 11 months out of the year and has the best time of her life the other month.
Our kids love it here! We will miss them for the next month but know they are having the time of their lives
I attended camp in the 70’s and had the time of my life! All 3 of my kids have attended as well and this year my 13 year old grandson is there! We love seeing Charles in the pictures. He looks so happy! Thank you for bringing this experience to so many children! I fell in love with Colorado because of Sanborn Camp!🥰
