SLG is my go-to for reliable eats and excellent drinks. Presentation is everything: Mitch is a fantastic bar-keep, fascinating to watch the care he gives each drink. Food it top-notch, and so are the staff. Sure, when slammed things get a bit slow but always worth the wait. SLG is at once bauhaus and high art, owner Brian Garrett keeps it real, I always feel at home. Never had even a so-so plate of food, it is Boise's gem. Eleven stars.

Great joint. Great food, $1 Coops of Champagne, and a good selection of whiskey. Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is they don't carry any Bird Dog bourbon. But seriously, the wings and beef rib are awesome.
