I have had two therapists at SAFY over the past year and I have had nothing but exceptional care. Not for a second did I feel judged for sharing my beliefs and experiences. The counselors here are absolutely qualified and offer their services for those in need. Life is hard as a human being; I'm 26 and just trying to make it in the world. Talk therapy is only beneficial and should not be stigmatized. Til now, I haven't been able to afford therapy and life is harder when you have to go through everything alone. I couldn't be more disappointed in this place. Their counselor Carlene is clearly biased and she let her bias be known when I called to say I wouldn't be in and that the session would have to be done remotely. The director(Judy Lester) picks up the phone tells Carleen that I wouldn't be in and she yells in the background "I WANT HIM HERE!". I was astounded that actually happened and what's even more shocking and appalling is that she did so freely knowing the director was standing right next to her!!! Staff said some unprofessional things, they are the reason why people do not want to go to therapy anymore. Shame on them.
