amazing staff and scenic views!
nice quiet ... not crowded great if you like the desert
RecommendedFirst time here today to celebrate 2020! The staff was nice, the picnic area was cool and there was a "don't look down potty". They do need a hand washing area for sure. Their 17 stops flat 1/2 mile hike was great. It got a little windy towards the end. I love the fossil marks...would love a marker to know which creature is what. It was nice to be able to walk and touch things without getting yelled at. I was tired around number 12. I spent the day hiking, picnicing in a day use ramada, taking tons of pictures of the remarkable views, and sitting on a random bench communing with God. An incredible day! Can't wait to go again, perhaps camp awhile! The park is well-maintained, the restrooms are clean and the area is perfect for a daytripper like me.
Everything. The solitude. The walk to the top of the Butte. What's not to like??

Fun hike to the top of the hill, beautiful desert views. They also have "easy" hikes.
Beautiful area with well organized camping sites and GREAT hosts!
