I had left hip replacement surgery on June 4, 2020. I specifically went to Dr. Russell Cohen for this procedure because I feel he is tops in his field. I am 73 years old; 2 weeks after surgery, I was camping with my family, back to doing yard work, cleaning house almost immediately after, back to normal!. Never needed pain meds at all. I recently underwent the MAKO robotic knee replacement surgery with Dr. Cohen - my second knee in 23 months that he's done. I had an extremely positive and quick recovery with my first knee, but it is absolutely amazing how much better the recuperation has been with my latest surgery. Dr Cohen performed my total knee replacement surgery on May 26. I’m 57 years of age and this was my second (opposite leg, 2012) surgery with Dr Cohen. During our pre surgery conference, Dr Cohen had touted the improvements that have been made with this procedure, namely the use of robotics. I read a review on this site by John Vincent who recently had the MAKO TKR with Dr. Russell Cohen; his surgery was a week before that of my own. His story and mine are very similar. I am an athlete and work in my own practice providing deep tissue therapeutic sports massage to a diverse group of athletes.
