About this business

A little ways outside Charlotte in the city of Huntersville sits Rural Hill, a 265 acre homestead with pastoral views and farm animals to enjoy. The farm has historical significance for the Scots and and Scots-Irish, which makes it a prime location for the annual Scottish Highland Games Festival. This is a beautiful place to escape the city life of Charlotte.

Very family friendly, I love that they offer beer and wine but still hold a fun atmosphere for kids Of all ages!!! The fireworks were beautiful and I truly hope to see it all again next year!!! My 4 year old loved the maze!!

Pumpkin festival was way too busy and poorly planned.

I love going to the events at Rural Hill. We went last night and had a wonderful time. My only negative comment would be that there were only 2 food trucks and I stood in line for 45 minutes.

Many fun and educational events. A historically appropriate dinner while learning about our state's role in the formation of the bill of rights, a night of star gazing with a brief lesson from a Davidson professor, Maize Maze fun, Loch Norman games, sheep dog trials, college quidditch match, and the annual first-footing on Jan 1st. We enjoy Rural Hill as a family all year long.

Tried the Amazing Maize Maze for the first time and we were less than impressed, not at all what we were expecting. Corn wasn't very tall in a lot of spots and 3 rows of corn separating the trails just isn't enough. We were run over by drunk people who had no flashlights. Overall just too many people in the maze at one time going in all directions and the putrid stench from the waste treatment plant hung in the air. No thanks should've saved our $60.

Went for the Pumpkin Fest, hoping to enjoy some pumpkin foods, as stated on the event page. There was only 1 food truck and 1 food tent, neither one had anything pumpkin. When I asked where all the pumpkin stuff was, I was told the vendor got lost and the lady that was supposed to be doing the pumpkin painting just didn’t show up. So the only pumpkins there were the ones that they were selling. Very disappointed!
