The farm has historical significance for the Scots and and Scots-Irish, which makes it a prime location for the annual Scottish Highland Games Festival. This is a beautiful place to escape the city life of Charlotte.

It was really fun and I really enjoyed my time getting lost in the maze even though I would highly suggest not doing a corn maze for the first time at night. The staff was really nice and super helpful. Overall I'd say say two thumbs up!
Rural Hill is such a family friendly place! The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. There is lots to do too! The corn maze (shorter than years past but still a challenge!), the hayrides, a bouncy castle, pumpkins, and a little place to grab a bite to eat. I've been coming here for years and will continue to keep coming here. Such a fun day out!
Rural Hill always seems so welcoming. I can imagine all the daily living & special occasions the Family & their neighbors spent here. The staff & guides are very well informed & hospitable to all the visitors.
Rural Hill is a wonderful gift to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. There is usually an event going on every month of the year and when there is not an event there are the trails to walk or run on, the self guided tour of this historic site, and the informative tour of the historic front rooms of the farm house with its collection of historic memorabilia. Beautiful venue,very peaceful,parking was easy,a good place to take the whole family
This is one of my favorite places in the Charlotte Area to visit! Between the NC Brewers & Music Festival in May to the Maize Maze, it's all awesome! I highly recommend Rural Hill for any age!
Great venue for events. Plenty of lodging nearby.
