The idea for Ruby’s Diner was born in 1980 after a run on the beach. Doug Cavanaugh had just returned to his native Southern California after successfully restoring and running a restaurant on Nantucket Island off Cape Cod. RecommendedI visit regularly and am never disappointed. Also, love the tiki bar on the second story.

I went there last night with my three very young kids and they were out of French fries ($14 meal of 5 chicken strips and a handful of fries). You’re suppose to get refillable fries with your meal if fries are included which our meal did) They we’re out of bananas for our banana split as well. Poorly stocked. The bathrooms were filthy. And I mean filthy. No locks on doors either. That’s unacceptable for a place that thousands of customers go in and out of there with outrages prices as they charge.
