About this business

Traditions do not come easy in this town, but some things never change. Take the menu: it is a standard "meat and three", a term given to restaurants serving a meat entree and three vegetables. However, Rotier's delicious southern-style cooking sets it apart from the other buffet offerings around town. Fresh baked cornbread and dinner rolls accompany every meal. If you are really adventurous, try a burger. It may be high-calorie, but you can always put the diet away and enjoy this tasty delight once in a while!

Best Burgers & Shakes in town! – What's WRONG with these people? Rotier's has a cheeseburger on french bread that is to DIE FOR!!! Others have told me that all the food at Rotier's is great but I can't get past this amazing burger. NO... there aren't any goofy sauces or "themed" burgers folks... this is a classic Nashville meat & three diner at it's best. And the service has always been great in the 15 years I've been going there. Once several years ago - back when they didn't take ATM or credit cards I didn't have any cash ... read more

Fast, filling and affordable. – I happened upon Rotier's while checking out Centennial Park during a weekend trip to Nashville. Rotier's is a very unassuming hole-in-the-wall kind of place that seems to be a favorite with the locals. I ordered the country ham plate with green beans, fried zucchini and corn bread. The corn bread was unlike anything I have had up north. Crusty on the outside with great corn flavor on the inside. While I was there a customer walked in and just ordered corn bread to go. I can see why! The ham an... read more

GOOD – A great family owned resturant; been going there for 20 yrs. Mrs. Rotier's one of the nicest ladies you will meet. GREAT food.. Hamburgers; good vegetables; BEST Fried Pickels in the STATE, got my co-worker's hooked on those. Good milkshakes.

extremely overrated – Ok, I am a hamburger aficionado originally from Shreveport, LA. When I moved to Nashville back in 2002 everyone said "you've gotta try Rotier's!--they have the best burgers anywhere." So I went. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a Dr. Pepper. First of all, the Dr. Pepper was served in a luke-warm can, which I thought was a little crude, but it is a dive restaurant, so I let it slide. Then the burger came. Even looking at it I could tell it was going to be a huge disappointment. The hamburger patty it... read more

Average food, high prices – I'm a huge burger and fries fan, so with all the reviews I had to try this place out. However I was really disappointed as the burger was marginally better than average, lacking the robust flavor I've had elsewhere. Likewise, the fries seemed rather generic--not bad but certainly not warranting of the acclaim I've ready about.. The food wasn't worth the price, and service wasn't all that great (waitress never offered to refill drinks, etc.). The atmosphere was nice, but from my experience, that's ... read more

Not #1 – I have tasted a lot of burgers in my day, including "Rotier's" but, if you can get past the uninvited little guests this place has and remember the nostalgia that comes with this old place has .... then it's great. I don't quite understand how it keeps getting voted #1 every year. I understand it very old but, no reason to be over run by these dirty creatures. There are companies to deal with that problem. I will not return there, I don't care how good the burgers are.

Rotier's is Amazing! – For the best down-home food you can possibly get in Nashville Rotier's is THE place to go. Warm roll and corn bread, AWESOME fried chicken, and so many casserole daily specials it makes me want to go every day just to try them all. There seems to be some questionable reviews of the staff on here but I have never had a bad experience- in fact just the opposite. I wouldn't call myself a regular but I am always greeted with a smile and warm welcome, and- not to sound cliche- but it's sincere like going to... read more

Terrible customer service – I went to Rotiers for lunch one day and was double charged- I thought I had payed for my friends meal. The next day I found out my friend payed also so I called the manager. She said we destroy the receipts at the end of the day and you should have called the day of my meal. She said I could come down there in a couple of days and maybe the waitress would recognize me. The waitress did remember waiting on me but the manager did not correct the problem because they destroy the tickets. All I had wa... read more

Best burgers, shakes, fries in Nashville!!! – Love Rotiers!!! Its a tiny little place, but fun atmosphere. You go in and are usually seated very quickly unless they are full. Staff very friendly. Food is evern better! My favorite is the french-bread cheeseburger with a chocolate milkshake. It's DIVINE! Be careful when you park, parking across the street will render your car towed. This happened to me once, and the manager gave me dinner on the house...thats nice but I still had to pay the tow-truck $50. Stick to meter-parkin... read more
