We stopped in on a whim and was just blown away by the awesome food and service. The tostada was a huge, hot mess pile, but it tasted oh so good. My wife loved her tamales and was in heaven. The butternut squash tamale was unique and tasty. The fresh guac bowl was also yummy. But the hero of the day was the desserts. The Tres Leche and butterscotch pudding was the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, EVER! I recommend you go. We will surely be back.
I've been going to Roosevelts for over thirty years. When Barry and Aaron took over, originally, I went expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised when I found they kept the best parts and added a new flair....it was always near the top of my list of well kept secrets in San Francisco now it's in a completely new category, thanks to these guys. I remember going there on New Years eve a couple of years ago. It was early afternoon and they were closed to prepare for a get together that evening. They opened the door so my wife and I could have lunch. That's real San Francisco. Thanks guys, your the best.
Now where will i eat in sf mission? glad we were with you saturday nite before your sunday close. hopefully, we will meet up again when/if you find a new venue. will miss the gravy!
I am so very sad to see Roosevelt's leave us in its' current format, but am confident that we shall see it, soon, in another incarnation!!!! Love and Light to you!!!!!
