Dr. Pineda was informative, clear, and specific. He was also genuine and not aloof. I felt comfortable and heard.
I had cataract surgery from him and see him yearly to monitor my other small cataract and I trust his opinion and expertise and value his time he spends with each patient .I feel lucky to be his patient !
I have been going to Dr. Pineda for years, starting from recommendations from one of his colleagues and two former fellows who trained with him. Ultimately, he did corneal transplant and cataract surgery that went very, very well; and he just "cleaned up" some resulting scar tissue with laser treatment. The results are fantastic. He always answers my questions as completely as I request. It can take a while to get appointments, as he is a surgeon's surgeon, always in demand; but it is worth the wait.

BUT the hospital scheduling leaves a lot to be desired and wait times are , compared to any other doctor/ consultant I have used are abysmal. So bad the scheduler told me to take a book
I had cataract surgery by another provider. Was supposed to be super easy. Woke up and was blind in that eye. After a few post op visits, I was referred to Dr Pineda. He explained to me that I had a corneal disease that was undiagnosed by my dr and my cornea was ruined. He did many tests and scheduled me for a corneal transplant. He literally saved my vision. The surgery went smoothly. My vision was restored. He is gentle, soft spoken and takes as much time with you as you need. Highly recommend!
If I could rate him higher than 5 stars, I would! Dr. Pineda is nothing short of Miraculous! He is a Genius at solving complex problems! His surgical abilities are Amazing! He is the kindest, most caring doctor I've encountered. He has corrected my problems created by other specialists I saw before I found him. Whether it is a problem with your cornea, you need an artificial iris, you need a cataract or some miraculous surgery required that other specialists don't dare or can't do well, please see him first and save yourself... read more
Dr. Pineda is a kind, sympathetic and knowledgeable specialist. Dr. Pineda is always thinking, computing and calculating during my visits. I know he is figuring the BEST way to proceed. I was blinded from a ptsosis surgery by Frank Sutula who sent me to MEEI.Dr Pineda constantly offers new procedures that will help my vision. I am grateful that I am able to see him knowing how busy he is.Dr. Pineds and his team are exceptional in every way!
After cataract surgery from another provider I was left with discomfort and blurred vision. Dr. Pineda listened carefully to my story, called for appropriate testing. and has come up with a plan to correct both of my issues. I’m so happy that I found him!
