Ritz has been referenced as the standard of customer service however I believe this is overrated. My reservation states check in at 3pm. I arrived at 2:45 and they kept me waiting 1 hour because the room was not ready. The front desk clerk was nice but looks like they were reciting their lines...too robotic nobody was really interested in providing a better solution than waiting. Unfortunately there is not a 2nd chance to give a very good first impression.

RecommendedExceptional service, views and good food. Contrary to the last review they were very accommodating with my gluten free requests. They Went out of their way to making sure all our needs were met. Room service food excellent as well. The club lounge exceptionally relaxing with fabulous treats and drinks. Best food and hotel views in Half Moon Bay. We love this hotel.

My wife and I stayed for our 25th anniversary and the Ritz was wonderful. The staff went out of their way to make everything about our stay special. It started with Rose petals on the bed and chocolate covered strawberries in the room to a nice dessert after dinner. The sommelier hit us with just the right wine and dinner was delicious. The pictures don't do the views justice. Thanks Ritz for a great time!

Another perfect getaway at the Ritz. The Sunday brunch is like no other, the facility is beautiful and ocean views truly spectacular. We stayed in the Clubhouse area again with a large room and full view of the Pacific - we have spotted whales every time here! We sat by our private fireplace as the sun was setting each evening. I have to add that downtown Half Moon Bay is a very pleasant experience; interesting shops and restaurants. There are benches all along the sidewalks for weary tourists!

What a great place to go and relax. Service at the fire pits is very slow but it doesn't matter you are there to sit back, relax and enjoy the view.
