My regular Doctor retired and Dr Sharma was recommended for the procedure I needed. I met her the day of the procedure and she was great. Friendly, informative, professional and not in a hurry. She explained everything and answered my wife's many questions (she's next!).
Sharma seems like a competent Dr., but her office is a shambles and does not care for its patients. After a number of years trying various Rx's (PPI - protein pump inhibitors), Sharma finally found one that worked. When I changed insurance companies, the prescribed Rx was no longer covered. What followed was months of back and form with the Pharmacy, the insurance company, the Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM), and Sharma's office to try and get an alternative or approval for an exemption for the insurance company. Ernest Sponzilli, MD, is an excellent, caring physician. He really knows his stuff. He is also gentle and thorough.
My recent colonoscopy went smoothly and with no discomfort. I appreciate Dr. Sharma’s supportive and friendly approach and believe that I am receiving excellent care.
I love Dr. Sponzilli, however this is my problem: I was told by Dr. Sponzilli to call his assistant Angela to schedule a "squeeze-in" appointment that he wanted me to make. However, I have left about 8 messages, and no one has returned my calls. Calling the appointment desk does no good because they can't schedule that type of appointment. Today, I asked them to please have anyone call me back that can schedule - however I was told there is no one else but Angela. I'm at a loss as to what to do!!
I recently had a Colonoscopy at the Surgery Center in Greenbrae. I can’t say how grateful I am for such courteous and professionalism among all the staff and doctor. Dr. Sharma is a wonderful physician with great bedside manners! Thank you to her and all her staff involved in my care.

This is my 2nd Colonoscopy with Dr. Sharma over the last 5 years. She has always been very professional, easy to communicate with, and always with clear directions concerning my prep for and the procedure to following. Anyone who has been through the colonoscopy experience knows how unpleasant it can be, not to mention occasionally frightening. Dr Sharma and her office team and colleagues at Novato Community Hospital made my most recent procedure so much better than others I’ve had in the past. She’s a kind and caring professional who has an empathetic manner with patients.
