Dr. Shahim is a great surgeon and has done three surgeries for me. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. Warning if you are looking for overly warm and fuzzy you won’t get that from Dr. Shahim but I would rather my doctor be straightforward than warm and fuzzy. That being said I like the fact that Dr. Shahim tells it straight out and he doesn’t waste either of time. He had me try tons of alternatives to surgery and doesn’t push surgery even though he is a surgeon.
Dr. Shahim tried to discredit what three other doctors have diagnosed me with over the last ten years. I have degenerative scoliosis. He looked at the lower portion of my spine only and said that it was not scoliosis, just degenerative disc disease. How can you determine if someone has scoliosis or not when only looking at half of a spine. Ridiculous. He was not compassionate at all. He gave me the impression that he was definitely in his career choice for the money, not for compassionate care.
He did my first spine surgery, which lasted four months, and said I needed to have a fusion, which I refuse to . He has my 1300 credit and never told me or sent me a letter letting me know I had this credit and refuse to give it to me until he Was no longer my doctor. But the final draw was when I went last week and he allowed two women to inject my spine and he was not present and I was sick three days. I am done. No more.
Visit with Dr. Shahim was fine. I appreciated his straightforwardness in the consultation. The issue I have is his nurse was to call in medication and it was not called in. The office states the Doctor and nurse are on vacation and willl not be in until next week and they do not have anyone cover for them that can call in my medication! I am unsure about continuing as a patient if there is no one that can help me if the Doctor is out!
He is wonderful and so is his staff he has tried everything possible to try to help me with my back and has gone over and beyond to try to help manage my pain levels. Thx u Dr. Yours true miracle worker!
I can tell you he is an excellent surgeon and treats me with so much care and concern. I have never has a Dr treat me the way he does. He makes me feel like I matter. I love the staff as well, Amanda and Cristy are wonderful and I appreciate everything they do for me Tracy Rateliff
Does not take time with the patient to explain what is needed. Does not offer any assistance with pain. Cost $450 for him to walk in, introduce himself, and tell me the could not do anything until I got a CT or MRI. $450. Charges for a cortisone shot were $4851! He has absolutely NO interest in his patients, do not offer any explanation of what is wrong or any options other than surgery. Would NEVER recommend him to another person!!!
Dr. Shahim is very professional, very thorough, and explains everything in detail. My back surgery went off without a hitch. His staff are very efficient, caring, and friendly. I would recommend Dr. Shahim to anyone with back issues.
Dr Shahim operated on my back a few years ago and the results were wonderful. My neck started giving me bad problems so I went back to him and he performed another surgery on my neck two months ago and the results were great. my back and neck are both doing really well. Arkansas Surgical Hospital is really nice and everything seems to be well run. I had to spend the night after each surgery and i could not ask to have been treated any better by the staff.
