I had an accident while at a conference in Las Vegas. Dr. Rimoldi was the surgeon chosen for me. He did a great job operating on me. HOWEVER, he spent very little time with me and was neither congenial nor forthcoming about what he did and the prognosis. I was not impressed.

Hi there, I had a lumbar spinal fusion performed by Dr Rimoldi a month and a half ago, the next day after surgery I felt like crying because I could finally stand up straight and my recovery is better than expected, I am a 34 year old male with the spinal degeneration of an elder (fracture, slipped vertebrae, ruptured disc, aggressive arthritis), I went from $160,000 a year, nice house in seven hills, to losing everything I own due to this disease mainly because my insurance had not kicked in at my new job at the Wynn. Dr Rimoldi performed a recent lower back surgery on me, and from the inception of meeting him and his staff, I couldn't have expected better treatment. The professionalism and attention provided by Dr. Rimoldi and Associates parallels that of the most progressive medical providers, and certainly exceeded my expectations.The attention and care given prior to, and after the surgery was tremendous. I was given some questions to ask and you are always told to ask questions of your doctors. I feel I was treated as though I was wasting his time. I didn't even get through 2 of the 4 questions I was told to ask of him about my problem. He said excuse me and left and sent in a PA to handle me. She couldn't answer my two questions and he came back in later and said what are your questions. I agree with many of the negative things said in this column based on the answers I did get from him. When Dr. Rimoldi finally came into the room, I was laying on the patient bed trying to get up. He didn't even bother to try to help me. He then tells me, "your workmans comp sent u here for an IME because Dr. C wants to perform a SCS surgery on u." My response, "no that is wrong. Dr. LEE, your fellow colleague, who performed my 1st IME is the one that recomended the SCS." He responds, "well I don't have that medical report." Me, "I have it right here." Dr. Rimoldi is the worst doctor I have ever been to. I was in a severe motor vehicle accident and had several broken bones when I came to see him. He could not look at my x-rays and confirm what bones were broken until my wife asked about the ones she thought looked broken. He then found out that we did not want to have surgery immediately because my injuries did not require it. He basically washed his hands of us after that. I've worked in healthcare for almost 20 yrs. I know a good provider when I see one. While Dr. Rimoldi may be a good moneymaker for Southwest Medical; he is not a good healthcare provider. I went in to see him after a visit to urgent care for numbness and tingling in both legs. The focus was on my back since that's where surgery would be performed if the MRI ordered showed need.
