Everyone meet exhibit A of a predator towing company. I watch low income people get their cars towed every night. Cheating and stealing from residents and swear and very unprofessional. These men and women have no souls.
I served as Senator Avel Gordly's legislative staff when we passed SB 116 and SC 431 in 2007, providing new protections from predatory towing, and those laws are still not being enforced. Retriever and the other towing companies are operating in direct violation of state law. I'm speaking to Portland City Council on the issue tomorrow morning, April 29, focusing on their violations of ORS 98.854 and ORS 98.856.

This company just came to tow away cars at a yellow ribbon event. This is the families of soldiers that are deployed!!! They didn't care at all when we told them, even towed me when I was in my car because I was in the way of them towing others.
They were towing away cars of veteran support providers parked in support of a yellow ribbon event! The portland PD had to get involved, I believe the media was there too! Orders are orders but sometimes you have to listen and think about the situation before you continue mission!
