The food was amazing! Every dish was spectacular. The wait staff were knowledgable and attentive. Celebrated with my sister and brother-in-law their fifth anniversary. Gave us a free dessert as well. If you have not tried this place, go!!! I will be back.

I liked the idea, our waitress was amazing! Can not stress that enough. The food wasn't all my favorites but that might have just been my personal taste. The idea of shareable meals was a great idea. A little pricy but you pay for quality.
I've entertained clients in fine restaurants for 30 years. Recently my favorite restaurant could not accommodate a party of 14 so my admin suggested Republic Tavern. After reading the menu, I was a little sceptical that my clients wouldn't appreciate the food but we tried it anyway. I can't tell you how impressed all of us were. Smoked trout was amazing and the elk tenderloin was melt in your mouth tender. We will definitely be back!
My family ate here while we were in town for the Detroit Marathon. Cool atmosphere, fun menu, and very tasty food. However, although promised an awesome grilled cheese for my 4 year old daughter, it took over an hour for said sandwich to make it out of the kitchen. That was our only bump of the night, and our waitress made it right by not charging us for the grilled cheese. Overall, we loved the food and service.
Beef cheeks were meatquid. Ridiculously tender. Super flavorful...everything was. My taste buds were partying! Great experience.
