I AM NOT EXAGGERATING - DO NOT SHOP AT WEST ELM. On August 27, 2019, I went to West Elm located on Brooklyn (Main Street) to purchase a sofa. The sales rep advised me that if I wanted to finance the cost of the sofa in smaller payments, I should get the West Elm Credit Card. Not that I needed it, but since she mentioned it would be a easier form of payment, I agreed to the credit card. An inquiry on my credit was made to get this credit card and they confirmed the sofa would be delivered between September 9-23. I patiently w... read more
I will absolutely never shop at Williams Sonoma ever again, and neither should you, if you value being treated how a decades-long paying customer deserves to be treated. I received a house warming gift of a dining room table, that was absolutely falsely represented on the website. Unfortunately I was not at home the day it was delivered so I was unable to refuse the delivery, which I would have, given its state. The table looks like it was made of linoleum or plastic, and not wood as the website suggested. Further, the websi... read more
I wish I could give a zero star review of West Elm, owned by Williams Sonoma. Not only has it been weeks since I ordered bedroom furniture, they cannot even tell me why one item in the large order is held up or where it is (paid for). Further, they have been taking money out of my bank account to double pay for things. I have been on the phone with WE twenty-one times and not one person knows what they are doing. The service is the worst I have ever had in my history on this planet (no exaggeration). I strongly recommend you... read more
BEWARE FUTURE BUYER I placed an order for the PB Comfort Slipcovered Ottoman and Chair in July 2019 with a scheduled delivery date of September 2019. The furniture never arrived and I did not receive any communication that it was placed on back order. I called to follow up on the delay and was told the order was not fulfilled. Then I was told the vendor was out of the fabric. Three calls later I was told the fabric was in and I would be pushed to the top of the list to have my furniture produced. Every call I made I was put ... read more
This is an email I sent to Pottery Barn and in a nutshell of what I have been dealing with: "To whom it may concern: I am extremely disappointed in Pottery Barn and the way my order was handled. I had two rug options to choose between and chose the rug I ordered on September 16 because it had a faster delivery date, which was October 2. My rug never arrived. I went online and I couldn’t believe that my new delivery date said October 18. I was also surprised because I did not receive a courtesy email or call about my delayed ... read more
Pottery Barn’s inventory management is abysmal. Multiple orders placed to furnish and decorate my new home resulted in store cancellations because items ordered were not in stock with no planned refresh of inventory and back orders of 6-9 months for items listed as in-stock with anticipated delivery within a week at the time I placed my orders. Of note, Pottery Barn never notified me of these cancellations or back orders. I learned about them after contacting Customer Service to inquire about the status of my shipments. I wi... read more
Awful, awful on follow through and customer service. I was misled about the status of my order on multiple occasions. When asked for an update last week, I was told my order would reach a local distribution center by October 1. When I followed up the day after October 1, I was told it was on delay, and would reach the local distribution center (traveling from one state over) at a delay, on October 4. When reaching out on October 5, I was ignored, and when I went to check the status o my order via an online link, the delivery... read more
0 stars. Purchased a jewelry box online with West Elm. Product arrived shattered. Called a total of 8 times now. Representative hung up on me or transferred me to "Williams Sonoma" 3 times. Initially requested a replacement, but product never arrived, then set to deliver to the wrong address. Decided I will not buy any more products from such an incompetent business. Requested credit to my credit card. After waiting 21 days, credit never applied. Called and they said they sent it as a merchandise gift card--which never arriv... read more
I ordered a rug and curtains on Sep 15. My confirmation email said the curtains would be delivered Oct 4 (I knew these were on backorder after finding out during check-out), but oddly the rug said delivery date of May 4. I immediately sent a message to customer service to see if this was a mistake and to cancel the order if it was for real. The response I got said the rug “is currently being processed for shipment by our vendor. When it comes to vendor shipped items, we do our best to give accurate estimates for when you wil... read more
