A black woman in my community went to this location for her birthday and was discriminated against. When she reported what happened, the manager laughed in her face. This is an unsafe environment for People of Color. I can not in good conscience offer a higher rating.
My partner and I live right down the street from here and as such we eat at RR at least once a week when we are too tired to make dinner or need a quick fry fix. As people of color, we expect that we are given the same treatment afforded to white patrons. After hearing the story of blatant abuse and discrimination against a Black woman, we will no longer be coming to you. UPDATE in the comments below: I've eaten at this Red Robin since 1980. Won't do so again, until I see a true remedy for the hurtful, racist treatment of your customer last evening whose birthday dinner was ruined. This is not a "gift card" moment, it wasn't a cold burger you're trying to rectify. You violated the Washington Law Against Discrimination. Your management didn't address it when you had the opportunity to do so. Demonstrate to your patrons now that you take this seriously, or lose your lifelong customers.
This location discriminates against black people. I will no longer go here until there are consequences for the server and the manager.
I am extremely disappointed to hear you treat people differently based on their skin color/place of origin. Seattle is a progressive city and we will not stand for any type of discrimination and inequality. I have never been a fan of Red Robin. My mom is and when she is in town, we go. Normally, the servers are super friendly and very accommodating which makes up for the awful food. However, last night, a friend celebrated a birthday there and was treated with RUDENESS by the server AND the MANAGER. My friend is a beautiful woman of color. Why should she be treated any differently than anyone who comes to Red Robin to celebrate a birthday? UPDATE: Due to my friend's tireless work, Red Robin is resolving this issue to her satisfaction by firing the staff member responsible, retraining staff and particularly the manager (who was new) so that this doesn't happen to anyone else, and donating to charity on my friend's behalf. Changing my review to 4 out of 5 stars, because Red Robin has ultimately been responsive and I believe will do better in the future. I had raw chicken in my salad; then a poor apology and excuses why.... I lost my appetite, so I didn't order anything else. However, I was still charged for my Diet Coke;/ Having lived in Seattle for nearly 25 years; I loved RR. However, the last few years have seen a major drop in customer service and food quality as the chain has grown and become more corporate. I doubt I will ever go back;(
