I just started working there, and my husband came in for dinner. He had their jumbo breaded shrimp and said it was delicious and cooked to perfection . He talked with the chef, who told him it was prepared from scratch, and breaded in house. He highly recommends the Red Ox! He also loves their chocolate cream pie!
I eat at The Red Ox at least four times a week. I find the food good and freshly prepared. The wait staff is top-notch! Mark (the owner) continually strives to make everyone's dining experience special. I urge those who have had a less-than-perfect lunch/dinner to give The Ox another chance. The ugly steak was amazing. I would definitely go again!
Stop in and order "The Ugly". It's a seasoned ribeye that is fork tender. Better than anything you can get at Ruth Chris' or Mortons Steakhouse.
we had some of the worst food that we have ever had here the waitress was very good to try to make it right we usually enjoy it here but the potatoes were hard the catfish and soup under cooked i hope things get better for them
Our party of 12 arrived at 12:15. We were not served until nearly 3 o'clock. People came in after us, were served, finished, left and were replaced with different people who were served and eating before we even saw an appetizer. The quality of the food was a mixed review. Many of the burgers were overcooked to the point of being unedible. I was in that party of twelve. All I can say is it was the worst service I have ever experienced. The food was below average. The Blt was served on dry un toasted bread with no manoysie. Bergers were over cooked. Items ordered but never served. 2 1/2 hours later we all left angry, promising we would never return. Dick & Karen Maiman
Food was good as well as the service. BUT what I didn't like was the charging of $2.65 for a cup of coffee, way too much. Will not be back because of what they charge.
Don't waste your time. Food was bad. Steak was over cooked.
