Racism to the purest extent. The owner (Mark) has told me I’m cheap looking, I’m ugly, I should have confidence like micheal Jordan because you know we are like one in the same. That my natural hair wasn’t allowed to be worn because it’s not an image they can uphold. I don’t look good with my natural hair. I could honestly go on and on about this place and I’m truly sad to say that a lot of bad things are in store for this Restaurant.

Sunday evening dinner with friends. Very disappointing meal. Wilted Spinach Salad with warm bacon dressing was served cold with cold dressing, not even bacon and overcooked chicken. Had to request the correct dressing. Chicken Parm was burnt on the bottom. The Fried Green Tomato Appetizer was good, unfortunately, it were served at almost the same time as the entrees. The bread sticks were good also.The waitress, Brenda, was attentive, although she was not familiar with the menu items.

My boyfriend took me for a late lunch/early dinner at Red Ox yesterday. He ordered the Ugly Steak, medium rare, and I got fried green tomatoes and asparagus. I'd have gone for an Ugly Steak myself had it not been early still. The place was pretty empty because of the time of day. Our waiter was kind and attentive. He said he hadn't been there long and he went to find the answer to every question we had. Boyfriend's steak was perfect. I had lunch with a friend and my son today. We were seated quickly, but that was the only thing that happened in a decent amount of time. The dining area was partially filled, as was the back. We were seated in the back. It took forever to get our food (half an hour or more), all we ordered were sandwiches, and my son had the chicken nuggets. The fact that I overheard the owner Mark call his staff member ugly and that she got tipped $1 on a $100 tab was because she looks cheap and ugly with her natural hair is astonishing. I've never in my life felt so bad for someone especially with him being the owner of the establishment. I will NOT be back and I will let everyone I know how much of a prick he is.

I love the place. I'm there every Friday night. The ugly steak is better than a lot of steaks in fancier restaurants that cost three times as much.
