They take to long when my sisters doctor sent her and she ended leaving and going to the Providence Hospital in Columbia.
Tuomey is worst hospital ever. Patients go there because they are really sick and the doctors don’t give a crap about their well being. A child can go in there with a head injury and they don’t even X-ray the child. To make sure that child is even ok.
They have wonderful staff, but their billing practices are horrible thanks to palmetto health. If you have anything scheduled to be done, expect to put 50% down, or 20% with a credit card on file. Unless of course your doctor can talk to them to advise it’s “urgent” at which point you pay whatever you can, and get bill for the rest. Sadly not everyone has hundreds of dollars to put towards these things, and doctors/nurses are not easy to get ahold of in the office
I walked into the ER at 10:00 in the morning and told them I had pancreatitis and was in severe pain. Five hours later they took me in and took blood and screwed up the samples (didn't tell anyone), sent back into the waiting room for four more hours. When I was finally taken back things happened quickly, blood was drawn again, and the doctor told me I had pancreatitis (which I told them almost 10 hours before). Dr. Kim Cortez, whom we met in the emergency department is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Her kind bedside manner, knowledge base and patience was greatly appreciated by my family and I, during such a stressful time. I’m very thankful that she took such excellent care of my love one.
