1 star is too much! Horrible! Absolutely horrible! Maintanance is a complete joke! You have to call over and over to get any response. Even when you get a response, it's not good. The washer and dryer in our complex has worked for ONE month out of the 6 months that we've lived here. My A/C went out, I called to let them know that it was 90 in my apartment and I needed it fixed immediately. Of course, they do not answer their phone. PPM Has Highest Lawsuit Rate In Linn County Please be very careful if you're dealing with Preferred Property Management (PPM). PPM sues more tenants than any one else in Linn County Iowa. In 2011, PPM sued 29 tenants for money in small claims court. That accounted for more than one fifth of the tenant/landlord lawsuits in Linn County. In the first 4 months of 2012, they have sued 63 tenants! Their lawsuit rate in 2012 is six times what it was in 2011!!! Do Not Rent i rented from these people and it was terrible my toilet broke and they tryed to charge me to have it fixed i refused to pay it and told them that if i do pay for it when i move im taking the toilet with me now my water heater went out and they have yet to even look at it not only that it took me leaving 5 messages and calling around 20 times for them to even answer the phone i will be calling legal aide for help this is such BS
Preferred agents will avoid you face to face, will stab you in the back I would give this zero stars if I could. Though I usually am hesistant to trust reviews posted online, the previous reviews are more than likely true. Horrible to deal with This company is horrible to deal with - only interested in money and nothing else - I had no choice and had to rent from them, but I can't wait until my lease is over and I will tell everyone I know not to do business with this company.
THANKS PPM! :) I love renting from preferred. I had horrible credit and was in a very bad relationship with previous landlord (eagle property >{) but instead of making me feel like i wasn't going to be qualified they simply just asked to have me file out an application, 2 days later i got a call saying that i was APPROVED, i was so excited because i fell inlove with my apartment. Instead of judging me for having some issues on my applicaiton they just simply asked me to pay more for the deposit and handed me the keys. I cant... read more
Fools! Preferred is probably the laziest property management I have ever seen. They care nothing about their tenants except for their rents. They will try to nickle and dime you all the way. You will have no privacy and they will invite themselves into your house whenever they want. I suggest not signing any lease with this company. They definately are masters of deception, saying one thing and doing another. Theives and Liars!
This is a Ghetto For being in Cedar Rapids, IA, this place is like a Ghetto. When I say that I mean that there have been murders in view from my front door, a shooting in my building (the bullet holes have yet to be fixed), and the landlords behave outside of the contracts and the law, assuming that the tenants simply don't understand their rights. Worst experience ever! Landlord failed to return $250 security deposit and didn't provide a sufficient reason for a bill of $2000. I hand delivered to the office my Notice of Intent to Vacate. The receptionist made a copy and date stamped the notice that it was received and entered. In my notice, I specified the date I would be vacating the residence and delivery instructions were provided for returning the security deposit.
