Have been seeing Dr. Portillo for around 12 years. Had life-long treatment resistant depression, plus anxiety, complex PTSD, and a generally poor quality of life. He saved me. Potomac Psychiatry costs more because they are on the cutting edge of treatment. Today, I am happy and healthy and thriving. I never thought this was possible. Thank you Dr. Portillo.

I saw Dr. Portillo for 3 years. He did not reach out to me in any way after I expressed severe concern about a referral he had provided me and a dire situation I was in. I feel it was unconscionable that Dr. Portillo failed to provide a vulnerable patient with support, and expected more from a psychiatrist who I thought genuinely cared about my well-being. Excellent doctor but smug, does not understand the little people and the fact that he charges an arm and a leg is a detraction. Perhaps they should lose some staff to lower their prices to make it more affordable and attainable

I did not feel comfortable while being treated by Dr. Portillo. I found him self-centered and lacking in good judgment. I saw him several years ago, so I hope he has improved. He had a pretentious demeanor, which was in augmented by the unusually large number of diplomas and certificates he had displayed in his office, as though to impress the patient with his credentials. He did not seem particularly empathic, which is not surprising given his aloof presentation.
