The first time I met Dr. Steve Porter was in a procedure room for my second routine colonoscopy screening. After a brief conversation lasting two minutes, I underwent sedation. He was extremely knowledgeable about the issues I have. Which no other GI Dr could figure out, after 15 or more years of trying to find out what's causing my issues. He was very personable, kind and funny. He asked me questions regarding my symptoms, and then told me what he thinks is going on. He ordered an endoscopy and colonoscopy, and was dead on with the issues I'm dealing with.
I was told that it if nothing was found it would be billed as preventative and then they build me as diagnostic doctor said he’d write extra notes so they could read bill it. His billing office was rude. I’ve been dealing with this issue for over a year. No one will call me back. I’ve reached out to the place where I’ve had my surgery, they’ve reached out and all I get is oh I sent it and the other places we haven’t received it. I’m stuck in the middle. I can’t say enough about Dr Porter. He has been so good to me, going completely out of his way to figure out a diagnosis and treatment. He’s such a smart man, so knowledgeable. I recommend him very highly. Thank you for your help, Dr Porter, you’re amazing!
Says everyone with GI disease can be cured with keto diet and positive thought and no medicine, everyone who has GI disease lacks will power and faith to do the required diet. Rude, arrogant and misguided.
Dr. Porter’s photo is deceptive. He is old, I’m his 60’s and the photo of him is probably 30 years ago, I assume he uses that photo to appeal to patients, because most people don’t want really old doctors that aren’t up to date on medical info. Dr. Porter is amazing. My daughter and I have been seeing him for over 20 years and he saved my daughters life after seeing many other Gastros who just brushed us off and said it was all in her head! She had a very life threatening liver disorder and he diagnosed it right off after talking to her for a few minutes. I recommend him with a 10!
Dr. Porter lacks professionalism and etiquette when he interacts with you. He was rude, abrasive and condescending. He uses your appointments to ramble on and on about nonsense and wastes your time. I dont feel that I gained any insight from my time with Dr. Porter. He was rude to me before my procedure at the hospital, which made me uncomfortable during an already very vulnerable state, and then refused to discuss anything about the procedure after while I was in recovery. Dr. Porter is amazing. He is so knowledgeable. Easy to talk to and answers questions fully. The staff is amazing and friendly. They put patients at ease.
