About this business
Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. Delicious shrimp and oysters!! Peacemaker Poboy and ginormous fried shrimp salad ! Amazing fried mushrooms to start! Love to sit in the bar area at one of the bar height tops and watch the game on tv!
We had the Crawfish Shirley which is crawfish and fettuccini dish with a cheese sauce. Also a Caesar Salad. I added some hot sauce to the crawfish dish. It was excellent!😍

Everything was great EXCEPT, red beans and rice!!! They were horrible, popeyes fast food even blows theirs out the water... But their boudan balls and everything else was great!!!
Wonderful place to celebrate a 93rd birthday! Shrimp,oysters, and fish were great!!
