About this business
Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. RecommendedI’m not from Ruston Louisiana I moved here a year and a half ago. A friend of mine recommended that I eat at your establishment. I’m so glad I took his advice. Friendly friendly friendly staff made my experience fantastic. The food was great also the portions were almost too much for me to eat but the food was good. But I can’t Raven Enough about the friendliness of all the staff we came in contact with they were fantastic. To me that’s what makes an establishment run well is the staff.

Great food and service, drinks too
The lunch menu had great choice. Our lunch was very flavorful. The white chocolate bread pudding was excellent .

Great atmosphere, food is top notch, service can't be beat! They disinfect every chair and table before seating you. If your in town treat yourself!
I really enjoyed the red beans and rice! I added the crawfish tails and also wonderful! Madison, the bartender, was a pleasure to talk to.
Usually it's wonderful but today not. No salad & water gravy with no mushroom & onions. Then sampler basket only had honey mustard which was for salad that we didn't get.🤦

There's a good selection of food and I've never had a bad meal. Tonight, the service. was terrible... From being seated to paying the bill, the service was cold and inattentive. But, the food was delish.
