About this business
Ponchatoulas was founded in February 1996, by original owner Johnny Gaudet, who then partnered with Chris Garriga in 2004. With a passion for good food and fun, Gaudet opened the restaurant on the bustling Park Avenue in downtown Ruston. The building housed a fire station in the early 1900's, complete with the big red fire truck and even horse-drawn carriages lining the downtown streets. Cindy Phillips. Another exceptional restaurant we have to eat at when we are in Ruston. Chicken sausage gumbo is one of our favorites, I love the stuffed fried catfish. My husband used to like the fried shrimp but one time a waitress dropped one of his shrimp on floor and did not offer to get him another one. He had to ask her and she said oh do you want another one. Now the shrimp are getting smaller and smaller in size. Food great and bartender very friendly
Delicious food with very reasonable prices for the amount you get. Wish I lived closer to enjoy the food often!! The staff was very kind and helpful. Very friendly with great service!
My brother and I stopped in to try this place on a recent motorcycle excursion. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was some of the best I’ve had. Crawfish ettoufee and fried catfish add on and have mercy it was delicious!!!
