Dr Poelstra, PA Jodi and those involved in my spinal surgery (L3-4-5) were amazing. I wish all docs and PAs were as upbeat and positive! Dr Poelstra suggested the correct course of action and although I’m only six weeks into my recovery, it is definitely a success!! I honestly can’t believe the difference. As an Orthopedic Surgical P. A who is also a Dr. Poelstra surgical patient. I was hit by a SUV while finding my Harley. I took a massive hit by a SUV that ran a red light and T Boned me. Dr Poelstra had the hard task of going into a L1-L4 fusion. Dr Poelstra Fixed the issues the First Back Surgeon did not or could not fix. Dr Poelstra Fused L1-L2 & L4-L5 and fused my S. I joints. Dr. Poelstra… sometimes you have to listen to your gut and not give in to the back pain. I wish I had waited. He operated on my thoracic spine, and even after calling his office and going to the ER in terrible pain, he refuses to help with pain control. He prefers to call his non-narcotic taking patients addicts. (Let me explain) I only take narcotics post surgery and never for daily pain control. Office visit went very good entire staff. Surgery was a success no back pain it has been over 6 months. Dr. Polestar and his entire staff at his office and the Hospital made me feel great and calmed my nerves. With a great staff like Tameka, Linda, Julia and Doug I felt apart of their family. I am 3 months post surgery for a cervical disc replacement. I was given detailed and cogent explanations of what was going on with my spine and what treatment options were available. Surgery happened quickly and, surprisingly, painlessly. Dr Poelstra is incredibly skilled, with great bedside manner and his support staff is the best.
