Deep-dish pizza is synonymous with Chicago and at Pizzeria Uno, the kitchen claims to have invented the famous pie. Lou Malnati may disagree, but nonetheless Pizzeria Uno has played a big part in Chicago culinary history. The pizzeria has since moved around the country as a franchise, but this location is the first. On weekends and during busy summer events, the wait time to get a table can be long, up to two hours sometimes, but it is worth it. The one-of-a-kind crust, loaded thick with toppings make the pizza very hearty; ... read more

numero uno – I've been going to Unos and it's sister pizzeria, Duos since 1953 and they have withstood the test of time. I'm referring to the downtown locations only as this impressive pizzaria has spawned numerous other locations throughtout the state. If you crave sasuage pizza, deep dish style with a layer of sausage covering the entire top, the finest cheese, and a superb tomatoe style sauce, you've come to the best in town. Lou Malantis's good but it is a copy-cat runner-up!!!!
Dissapointing Service – I was there ordering a pizza for an hour. But then, the waiter gave us the wrong order and then it was a stinking cold pizza for someone else... I would not be this mad if he was to give me a new made pizza..................or freee................. I asked him to heat the pizza again but then he was reluctant to do so...bad stinking service!
Pizzaria Uno is Numero Uno – Totally outclasses the others. Thick but not overstuffed as in cheese. Aromatic with herbs and fresh tomatos and the unique great taste lasts.
hmmm – some of the best pizza in town, a bit crowded (understandable) but well worth the wait
Best in the World – For the original in Chicago Pizza, one must take in all that Pizzera Uno has to offer. It should be on anyones list when visiting Chicago, and if you are fortunate to live in the Windy City, you'll never have to substitute for the real thing, not what's served in the Uno's Restaurant Chain.
Splendiferous! – Quaint environs, always busy. Whether you choose Uno's or Due's, you are sure to get a fresh, tantalizing pizza with superb accompaniments. Uno's has to have the more satisfying meal, but maybe that's due to the atmosphere...I highly reccommend this restaurant.
3D – A "Deep Dish Delight", Uno's two step cooking process creates a tasty pie. This is definitely a pie, not dough with toppings spread on it, though that is also a great way to go. Uno's "parbake" is thick, flavorful, and not too crisp. The fillings are great and plentifull.
Oh Lordy – Numero Uno, is my vote. This place serves steamy hot deliciousness, regardless of the time of year or time you wait. The nationwide chain gives this restaurant no justice, its just not the same as the original. Have a beer and sit back and wait for a glorious pie to come your way. Your jealousy will heighten as others' pies pass you by, but have another beer and snack on the bread and dipping marinara. I have yet to have one complaint from anyone who I have taken here, only praise for the best pizza they have ever... read more
Richest bite in town! – This pizza's sour-dough crust is so rich, I can only eat one piece!! It is truly the reason I visit Chicago!!
