I took my dog there because she had a seizure. They took her immediately in the back and told us she would have bloodwork and they would hook her to an ekg and keep us posted. After 90 min I asked for an update and was told the vet would come and talk to us. Meanwhile, people are bringing they're pets in, being seen and discharged. We took our Cat Baxter to the South Hills location. He was having some problems vomiting. They told us his heart rate and blood pressure were low. Also he was dehydrated. They admitted him, and started to rehydrate him. The next morning we got a call from the doctor. He told us he was doing great. His vitals were all normal. He said we could pick him up at 2:00. 1/2 an hour later the doctor called us and said Baxter took a turn for the worst. 10 minutes later he was dead. We talked to the office manager. Very pricey but well worth every penny. I have been down here 3 times now and every time not only does the staff take time to go over everything. the doctors are kind and caring and keep you informed the whole entire time. My cat Ty first came in having a hard time breathing. He had huge lumps in his mouth. The ER doctor did everything and thought it was cancer. I had an appointment with the oncologist today and I have enlightened to say they she sees no cancer in his mouth. she believes it was an infection that looks like i... read more

I am a veterinarian practicing in West Virginia, and I recommend that all my clients, and recently my parents, come here for specialist workup and advanced imaging. Unfortunately, my family dog, Pepper, a 14.5 year old schnauzer, was admitted through the ER service last week, and after an MRI, expert ICU care, and compassionate technician attention, we had to say goodbye to him early Thursday morning. We love PVSEC! The staff is fantastic and the specialty vets are phenomenal.
Last week, we brought our beloved 9 year old chocolate Labrador Retriever, Zoe, to PVSEC South after she suffered an episode that resulted in a very fast decline. Although they were not able to save her, they did everything in their power to try. I want to especially thank Dr. Tim Donihee for his efforts, honesty, and compassion through the whole ordeal. All of the staff was very caring and sensitive to our feelings as we dealt with our grief. I recommend them highly.
