The Pitney Bowes Support line is the dreaded call for us. So badly that we try and force someone else in our company group to go through the process. Looonnnnnngggg wait times and then you may be cut off or dropped back into the hold queu starting completely over. Can't remember a good experience. My General Manager purchased a Pitney Bowes Postage Small Office Series Mailstation2 (***** Model) for our company's postage. Pitney Bowes changed to a new machine (the old one worked perfectly, never any problems). The new machine constantly has issues and will not print postage. He was informed that he needed to spend $179.00 to get out of the contract. Each time he calls he spends over an hour on the phone waiting to speak to customer service. Pitney Bowes locks you into a lease and will not let you out under any circumstance, even if they have made errors. In our case, they made billing errors (more than once), and our company had to spend several hours on hold, losing our time and money on the labor that went into trying to resolve these issues. Why should we be obligated to stay in a contract that has proven to cost us unnecessary money? Their Terms & Conditions protects them under all circumstances but does not protect the Consumer at all. AVOID this company at all costs. We too have attempted to cancel our service for the past 3 months. We have followed all their "guidelines" for cancellation. Have had to call them every week to check the status. They have an automated system that you can leave your number and receive a call back from them, however that DOES NOT WORK. My latest experience was that the automated attendant called me back and placed me on hold again for another 10 minutes. Very difficult to get a person on the phone. My lease was expiring and I wanted to return the equipment. I was told I had to pay a $100 termination fee. Really? I am the one sending your equipment back at my cost and you want to charge me for it?
I have been trying to cancel my service with this company for 3 months and they are still charging me fees and never do what they say they will do to help me. I have called 5 times now and each time there is a minimum 30-minute wait to speak to someone and when I do reach someone they lie and tell me they will help me close my account but they do not. I feel that this company is scamming me and I do not understand how they have a good BBB rating.
Seriously flawed company, took 1.5 hours on the telephone via 3 people to be told we should have considered not signing the non-refundable, non-cancellation contract, as our company closed it doors. Poorest customer relations in history. I would suggest slamming the door to any Pitney Bowes sales reps. as they are certainly not an ethical company. ** ******* ****
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! They trick you into binding leasing contracts. It's impossible to contact a real person in the leasing department by phone or email. Worst customer service ever. They think because they are an old company, they can be aloof and insulate themselves from their customers. Scammers and crooks.
