About this business

Mix and match items from the creative menu at this romantic bistro, which features American food with a twist. You first pass under an American flag and then enter the dining room walking past photos of regulars and the staff. Standard rosemary chicken gets a touch of salsa and barbecued ribs are topped with peach and mango relish. Diners favor the overstuffed Chicken Potpie and the grilled Mile High Sirloin Steak. The bar is always jumping.

WONDERFUL dining experience! – I came to Phillip Marie for a very special dinner for two and could not have been happier with the whole experience! The hostess, Meg, was absolutely lovely and helped me to arrange for some special touches to be added to the table. The food was amazing and the ambiance was lovely. I HIGHLY recomend Phillip Marie for any occasion. It is a wonderful establishment.

Disappointing in so many ways. – I'm not usually one to write a bad review...in fact this is my first time. But the overall experience here was severely poor. First we sat forever waiting for someone to greet us, our bottle of wine took another 10 minutes to arrive. Our server could not answer any of our questions about the menu. Then five out of our six entrees arrived without an explanation as to why one was missing. The person who delivered the food simply left. About five minutes later the server noticed we were missing ... read more

Best Dinner & Brunch in West Village! – Philip Marie is truly one of those great dining destinations you simply want the world to know about. In the past five years I have dined here on at least 25 occasions, each time with a guest or a group -- and every single person has fallen in love. You can't go wrong with dinner here -- and PM also boasts probably the best Sunday Jazz Brunch in downtown NYC (I'm a big bruncher and have been many, many places). Exec Chef John Greco's menu boasts 'Innovative American Cusine' and that's ... read more

Unbelievebel great food and service – I have been dining out all over the city and one of the very best experiences I had was at Philip Marie The atmosphere in the dining room is a plus also. Service and food are top notch. The griled chicken and artichoke stuffed chicken was out of this world. I would recommend this to ANYONE. There MArdi Gras and Valentines menu looks fantastic also. Check olut the website it is updated on a regular base to inform you about everything happening there! A must in my book

A West Village Gem – My wife and I recently took a trip down to Manhattan and ate at Philip Marie on a friend's recommendation. The staff was very accommodating and the food was excellent. All in all the experience was wonderful and I look forward to returning the next time we visit the city.

great food, great service and affordable – I ate here recently with my girlfriend. I had the pork chop, which was excellent, and she had the lobster ravioli. Our waiter was very attentive and the check was not at all unreasonable. I would recomend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner out without spending an arm and a leg. And try the triple milk cake, its amazing!

very disappointing – This is the first time I've rated a restaurant. The good reviews were what led me to try this restaurant....and I was very disappointed. The crab cakes were very dry and tasteless with the consistency of sawdust. The fried green tomatoes were also very dry. Both appetizers came with the same orange sauce-not tasty. We ordered two specials which did not have prices listed and were significantly more expensive than most things on the menu. I had the basa (fish) which was served in a very unappetizing manne... read more

Wine Tastings on Thursdays Are a Must – A couple of weeks ago my friends and I were passing by on our way to a bar when we saw a sign for wine tastings on Thursdays. We were intrigued so we went inside. The bar was full but the manager was kind enough to come over and seat us at a table. The wines were amazing and the hors d'oeuvres were perfectly paired! We had so much fun that we stayed all night and I have been back three times since! Each time I go the food is consistently good and the staff is so welcoming.

Awesome chocolate pancakes! – We stumbled upon this spot when we were looking for a place to have brunch. It is very cute/quaint and would make a good date spot. The menu was not bad for brunch/lunch... after I saw the chocolate chip pancakes, I knew what would be going into my tummy that very second. The pancakes were huge and were very rich due to the milk chocolate.. what other would you want them anyway? Besides the space being just a bit tight, that's all I can say about this great lunch spot!
