Great ambiance! This place is very inviting and cozy. Every time you passt his place you feel like going in side and buying something. I think I might buy something today?
Treated poorly by Owner I was treated very poorly by the Owner of Bird World. My toddler was there to look at pets, but this is not a toddler friendly store! He basically told my friends and I we were bad parents and to get out of his store.
A Terrific Store for Pets and Supplies Over the years have bought numerous pets from this store, from lizards, snakes and fish to birds - we also buy most of our pet supplies here. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, kind and are patient with our many questions, and show a genuine affection for the animals they sell. The prices seem comparable to other pet stores, but at BWPV, you also get the knowledge and experience of the staff so hands down, this place is a winner in my book.
Puppy Mill I agree that the puppies come from puppy mills. I bought a Llaha Aspo from there and she was in very bad shape. I got her home and she wouldnt eat. She had no energy at all. When she finally went poop, it was almost all blood. She also was not pure breed as indicated. The only positive thing about Pet Village I can say is when I called them and told them what was going on, they had me bring the puppy back in and they took her to the vet and paid the vet bill. Avoid! My dad used to buy fish from here all the time, which seem okay. But I just went here today with my daughter looking for guinea pigs. First of all the guinea pigs all look full grown, and they had noooo idea how old they were! Unfriendly staff! The poor puppies all had watery discharge in their eyes. Let's just say I ran out of there and will not be back! I used to go there as a kid about 15 years ago and it seemed a lot better. I think I trust KSL over this place.
My Poor Dog is the Victim of their Puppy Mill ways I should have done my research. I remember seeing the cute puppies at Pet Village & Bird World and when it was time for me to purchase my own dogs, I decided to pay them a visit and purchase mine there. I bought two dogs from them, a lhasa apso and maltese. With the maltese, he had ear mites and had to have his ear lanced to squeeze out an infection, but after a few weeks of antibiotics, he was fine. I Will Never Ever Ever Go Back Please under no circumstances purchase a pet from this store. The store claims to not purcahse from puppy mills and proudly boasts that they use a "broker" the reality is a broker is someone who simply goes to puppy mill auctions or worse drives around the country purchasing puppies from any breeder (reputable or not). Buyer Beware Please do not buy a dog from this or any pet shop. I made the mistake of buying a puppy from this place. The puppy was always sick and mean. Must have been abused at a puppy mill. The puppy ended up biting my 2 year old in the face. I also was charged about $700 more than it would have cost to go to a legit breeder. Please do your homework before buying a pet and don't make the same mistake I did.
Great pet store! For all of you that think puppies at bird world are from puppy mills are crazy. One of my relatives bought a 8 week old pekineses and he is doing fine. If it suffers from many problems it isn't companies fault it is the knowledgeable breeder. I've bought animals from here for many years and think it has good variety in pets and supplies.
